Teaser Edit (3 minutes)
I had so much fun working with Hazel and Daniel this year – a truly exciting couple! When we met for our consultation, I knew their wedding was going to be a blast not only because of their 510 area code (what is it about Californians having fun weddings?), but also because Hazel and Daniel really are those sunny, silly, fun-loving people in real life.
Extended Edit (20 minutes)
The ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Joseph Parish on Capitol Hill. Father John delivered one of the best homilies I’ve heard yet. One of my favorite parts (which perfectly describes this couple) was:
“It’s nice to have the occasional perfect day, but what we hope for you is a little bit of what I experienced last night when I came to be with your families and I think everyone was family… But it was chaos. Beautiful, wonderful, living, loving, chaos. That is what we invite you to today… This is what we pray for you and what we hope for you and what we pray God and know God wants to give you: that wonderful chaos which is love.”
-Father John Whitney
It was the perfect mix between traditional and personal, and the ceremony brought tears of laughter and of joy, which was good as I had promised Hazel to catch at least one of her relatives crying on film 😉
One of the things that I will remember the most about this wedding, is that it did not only feel like the union of a couple, but truly like the union of two families. And that spirit of togetherness lasted throughout the ceremony and reception.
I was lucky enough to have a chance to sneak away with them during a break from the rain, walking around and exploring the UW Campus. They were both naturals in front of the camera, laughing and dancing down the sidewalk, trying to untangle Hazel’s dress in the wind. I wish them both the best and am glad Unified Cinematic was there to capture these moments for them!

Thanks to all the vendors who made this day such a joy!
